Malaysia, located in Southeast Asia, is a diverse and multicultural country. Its territory is divided into two main regions: the western peninsula, which is home to major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor Bahru – with Johor sharing a border with Singapore; the eastern peninsula, known for its abundant natural resources, includes regions like Sabah and Sarawak.Over the past 50 years, Malaysia has gone through rapid development and successfully transformed itself from a mining-and-agriculture-heavy-economy to a service and industry-driven economy. Stable political systems, a highly educated workforce, cultural diversity, and rich natural resources, along with unique trade relationships with China and other countries, have positioned Malaysia as one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia over the next decade. This has attracted a growing number of multinational technology companies, including global giants such as AT&S from Austria, Infineon from Germany, and Intel from the United Kingdom, to establish a presence in Malaysia.

The Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme is an initiative launched by the Malaysian government in 2002 that allows eligible foreigners to live long-term in Malaysia. The programme offers a range of benefits and incentives to encourage overseas individuals to make Malaysia their second home. The MM2H programme has been tremendously popular, with over 20,000 participants having obtained the special visa to date. Through this initiative, the Malaysian government aims to attract foreign nationals to experience the country's diverse culture, natural beauty and high standard of living, while enjoying a conducive environment to reside in.
